This Official U.S. Navy Photo was taken in the Fall of 1955 in Naples, Italy, aboard the USS Boston (CAG-1), the ship that Marty's brother and father served aboard, while Marty was assigned to NATO in Naples. In Marty's words: "I asked for permission to meet my brother and father who were on the USS Boston and did not believe it but the Navy sent a staff car with me and a photographer to meet them... All I wanted was to meet them and pull some liberty.... Well you know the Navy they took photographs and it was in papers all over the United States and even made the Navy Times...."
