Dave "Ridge Runner" Carpenter "Qualified in Submarines" on July 13th, 1962.   This photo was taken in August of 1962 in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. The USS Menhaden had just returned from a two-month submerged mission in the North Pacific. Pictured are the crew members who earned their coveted "Dolphins" -- "Qualified In Submarines" -- on that cruise. Pictured from Left to Right are: (??? . . . I can't remember his name!); Richard Rowlands, EM3(SS); "Doc" Worthington, HM1(SS); Robert Herrera, FTG3(SS); Charles Wojic, IC3(SS); Dave Carpenter, IC3(SS); (??? . . . I can't remember his name, either!)   In the past 40+ years, my memory has faded (sometimes called "CRS" -- "Can't Remeber Sh*t"!) and I have forgotten some of their names!
