Upon his Retirement in January of 1978, Jim Hoffman, EMCM(SS), was piped over the side from the Quarterdeck of the USS Sailfish (SSR-572). While the Commanding Officer and Executive Officer saluted from the side, the boat's Chief Petty Officers acted as sideboys.
